Maths enlargement project

WALT: Find a picture from the internet and enlarge it by 2.5 cm.

Reflection: This was very very hard and challenging it took me over 2 weeks to complete. I really enjoyed finally finishing the body because it was more simple that I thought. If yous are wondering why the stomach is pink its because I couldn't find a colour that was different than the gray fur.

Careers presentation

WALT: Research the career that I wanna do in the future.

Reflection:
I found that making this presentation was quite challenging because you have to do a lot of reading and researching and its just a lot of work. I really enjoyed finishing this and finally sharing it with the world. Maybe next time I could add some more information to the slides and finding out more about the topic.

Capital E project

Capital E Breaking News

Thank You storyboard to Hertz & Orbit

WALT: To create different ways to say "Thank You" to the people who helped get to and enjoy our trip in Wellington.

Reflection:
Creating this storyboard for Hertz & Orbit was challenging, it sure was. But it was really fun to decorate and design. We had to create a way to say thank you to all the people who gave us a helping hand in Wellington. We wouldnt have been able to enjoy our trip in Wellington as much as we did if we didnt have Hertz & Orbit to lend us a couple of vans to travel around in.

Huia Whanau's Wellington Travel

WALT: Use maps and pin locations we are travelling to in Wellington.

Reflection:
While creating this map I found that it was quite hard and challenging to pin the places then add how long it would take to get to the next location. This map is so helpful to me because now I know how long it would take to get from one place to another and how much time I have to rest on the plane. I will use this while I'm in Wellington so me or my class dont get lost.

Places I want to go

WALT:Drop pins on google maps.
Reflection: I had so much fun making this and I really enjoyed planning my future. I found finding heaps of extreme places around the world quite hard because I want to go everywhere. Maybe next time I could be a little more adventurous and not choose so much places in the same country.

Speech

WALT: Create a speech to convince an audience.
Trust me with our future
Introduction:
Trust me with our future because I can make a change and I can ban plastics forever. I will be introducing 3 major problems that is affecting our future and that our elders have left us to clean so they didn't have to do any work…. My issues with our future are captive animals, global warming and sustainability. Prepare to be convinced that you should trust me with our future.

Keeping Animals Captive in Zoos:
Animals are being kept in zoos so they can be on displayed for humans and so the zoo can make money. Animals are harmless and very loveable if you treat them right and let them have an opportunity to express what they can and can't do. Animals such as tigers, gorillas, lions, cheetahs and much more are being held captive in cages which are unhealthy habitats, pretty much animal prison. In my opinion I think animals should have a choice where they live. Being kept in cages is unfair because it is so different from their natural habitat. For example elephants, rhinos, tigers and gorillas are being abused or poached by zoo keepers, animal keepers, hunters and people like us. If you don't believe me there's plenty of movies, books and songs that talk about this type of animal cruelty. Humans are the biggest predators of these animals and it is always for money or enjoyment. Humans are the only animals that kill for fun!! I personally think that animals should not have to look at creepy, slimy, sloppy faces all day, it is just not fair at all! How would you feel if someone just came up to you and started taking pictures of your gloomius buttock or videos of you being tormented. I feel that we are making animals lives much more harder and challenging if we carry on doing this to them and I can make that change if you just Trust me.

Global Warming:
Global warming is making a huge impact on the environment and our homes. It is affecting the world and is becoming more powerful and is taking over all the important things that mean something to us. Carbon dioxide is one of the main problems. Carbon dioxide is caused by big plant factories releasing gas into the air and letting it affect our own kind. For example “The Simpsons”. The Simpsons display what carbon dioxide is doing to us. Homer Simpson works at a nuclear power plant, and there's a clear picture of smoke coming out of the chimney and is creating a heat blanket that is burning us. We don't deserve this so let's stop global warming from expanding and affecting our future selves.

Better Safe Than Sorry:
In my opinion I think it's very unfair that our world is becoming more dirty, unsafe and very unpleasant, because of mistakes that we are making every single second of every minute. It's not because we are not trying its because we are lazy, sloppy and don't care who or what we are hurting. You may or may not notice but it only takes one person to kill over 200 animals. For instance have you heard of the “Great Pacific Garbage Patch” probably not but The Great pacific Garbage patch is an area in the ocean about the size of New Zealand and Australia put together. Like we might as well bathe at a beach where the sand is bottle tops and the water is plastic bags, that's not how we want to live so why should we let poor, innocent animals take their lives for our sake. How would you feel if the world around us was not the world you planned, not the picture you had dreamt of since you were five. If you want to live like a person, feel like a person or even be a person in the future then it's not too late to make a change. It's definitely not too late to volunteer to help.

Conclusion:
Personally I feel that no one cares about how others feel. All they care about is how much money they are making or how much people they are entertaining. If you really cared about the future and how long you will survive then I think the best choice for all sake is to stop. STOP with all these chemicals, with all these deadly contacts and Help. Help us clean this place up, stop these chemicals from getting into us and from stopping our generation. I know you can trust me with our future because i’m capable of a lot of things and I know so much about green peace and plastic free. If you really cared about the future then you would help us make our world a safe and beautiful place.

Reflection:
While creating this speech I think the most thing I did well was tying up my paragraphs and using the TEXT formation. Next time I think I could work on adding more humour so its not so boring and so like long and also I think I should like cut right to the point instead of making it like really long and going off topic. Enjoyed:I really enjoyed writing the conclusion because I loved talking about how beautiful this place and world was and the "Stopping our generation".

Kaingaroa School Ice Skating Fundraiser

Ice Skating Fundraiser:

WALT:  Create a poster to persuade an audience to visit our ice skating fundraiser.

I made this poster to display a fundraiser for my school, and to persuade an audience to come and be apart of our fundraiser and have an awesome time. I enjoyed creating my own ice skate on google drawings and making the poster itself.  I had trouble applying everything and making it really persuasive and interesting. Next time I think I can improve by making it simple but really effective. If you want to make a really cool poster I think Canva is a really good site to use.

Google form responses

By making this graph I have found out that the most popular dog breed from my survey is Rottweiler and the least popular is German Sheppard.

I was very certain that Rottweiler was gonna be the most popular and I was quite sure what was gonna be the least. I made this one of my questions because I love dogs.

Word of the day 2

Sea turtles

Sea turtles.
“ Have you ever seen over 10 sea turtle species in one spot?”. Well let's take ourselves to
the nice tropical warm seas, where we will learn about  the seven species of sea turtles.
There is the hawksbill sea turtle, the loggerhead, the green turtle, the
leatherback, the kemp's ridley, the olive ridley and the flatback. In common places of the world you could possibly find over 10 sea turtles species in one spot.

Every species of sea turtles are the same because they all have 5 inch arms and legs and
they all grow up to 5-12 inches and weigh 160 kgs. apart from the leatherback, the leather
back grows up to six feet and weighs 550 - 2,000 pounds but for the rest female is slightly
different, the male turtles tail is 2 inches longer than the females.

A sea turtle has two shells on its body, there's the inner shell and the outer shell. When a
turtle curls up into its shell it actually curls up into their inner shell. The only reason why
they would curl up is either because they got frightened by something or someone, because
they are cold or because they are hiding from prey or predators. A turtle's shell is so hard
it feels like rock. As hard as you try to break it it will just break the object your using to
crush it.

Turtles like warm, tropical & shallow waters because it is easier to hunt down prey and
because well it's warm and they have sensitive skin. Turtles are most likely to be found
in the pacific oceans, gulf of mexico, Tropical regions of the Atlantic and India. Because
their hard rock shell turtles aint really afraid of being out in the open. They tend to be out
in the open because they are the corals life savers. Turtles eat all the bad and yucky stuff
off corals that will make corals overtake the ocean and there will be nothing but corals.

Some turtles are endangered there are over 4,600 that get killed everyday by plastic, oils,
predators and many more things that are willing that are willing to take down the turtles
species. To make sure we have enough turtles in the ocean we need to make sure we put
our rubbish in the bin, stop putting any types of chemicals into the ocean, making sure
there is enough food so they dont starve of hunger and especially when we go swimming
and we see a turtle just let it be. Please help us look after our sea turtles and for more
information go on your device and search up “Sea Turtles”.
Thank you.
